Digital protocol

The key to the success of any fixed prosthetic therapy is proper protocol. Digital dentistry today is more advanced in treatment planning than analog one. Minimally invasive therapy depends on proper treatment planning. Digital wax-up and mock-up phases are most important for therapy success. With these phases, tooth preparation is controlled to preserve teeth as much as possible. In combination with optical devices, the preparations can be very precise and clean. Depending on the digital devices and softwares, different approaches can be chosen. After the final try-in of the PMMA prototype and ceramic restorations, cementation takes place. Cementation depends on the correct choice of dental ceramics and composite cements. In addition, the restoration and the tooth must be properly prepared for successful cementation and adhesion.

The lecture and live demonstration will show complete esthetic therapy with ceramic veneers following steps of digital protocol. The dental office and laboratory phases will be explained and demonstrated.

Abstract

Intraoral Scanners Past - Present - Future

After 17 years of daily work with IO scanners, we can see the evolution of hardware, software, and our way of using it. There are already 40 years of history and development, and many new scanners are just coming to the market. Lower prices, more options for usage. How to choose the right one? Depends on your needs.

Efficient Esthetics - Save the Time, Increase the Quality

Composite fillings are maybe the most frequent type of dental treatment. However, the way of bonding has changed. Filling materials are developing every year. Knowledge about polymerisation has made an enormous step forward. So we have to make some updates about the work we do every day. All the updates to our equipment and materials lead to time-saving, so don't stay in retro mode, life is short, and time is money.

He is the author of many scientific articles and case reports on esthetic dentistry. In March 2018, Dr Koubi co-authored an article entitled "A Simplified Approach for Restoration of Worn Dentition Using the Full Mock-up Concept: Clinical Case Reports" in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry (IJPRD). Dr Koubi is the author of the book "Laminate veneers: 20 recipes for smile design", which has been be published by Quintessence Publishing in 2019.

Abstract

From dogma to everyday day dentistry in the aesthetic zone: ingredients and recipes: from no prep to prep less

Part 1 cosmetic

Restoring tooth in the esthetic zone is a daily challenge . The issue is to predict the final result specially the color balance with the adequate value. Many parameters are concerned (choice of ingot, thickness of the prep, choice of resin cement, color of the substrate…).

The aim of this lecture will be to present recipes when playing with crown, laminate veneer or no prep restoration in order to suggest a precise clinical protocol according to the clinical situation.  Worn dentition will be presented as well in the same spirit using some original clinical protocol (full mock up technic) .

Both of these topics have to be treated not in an artistic way (impossible to fit with    everyday dentistry) but in a predictable way.

Style Italiano indirect philosophy will be highlighted in this lecture.

Part 2 function

Partial bonded restorations have become for the last fifteen years the most esthetic, biologic and biomechanic solution to restore dental defects and mimic the nature.

At the same time materials, technic, concepts brought us all the solution to offer a contemporary dentistry to our patient.

Dental manufacturers offer awesome products. These need to fit with a precise methodology in order to propose solutions to the dentist and improve their daily life.

The aim of this presentation will be to suggest a simple way of working and thinking  which can be resumed by these 3 key words: simple, teachable and repeatable.

Laminate veneer (la facette) would be presented as a versatile tool to solve cosmetic problem but also functional problem (worn dentition).

Part 3 implant

Use of implant has become for the last fifteen years an efficient , safe and predictable solution to restore dental defects  and mimic the nature.

At the same time materials, technic, concepts brought us all the solution to offer a contemporary dentistry to our patient.

The aim of this presentation will be to suggest a simple way of working and thinking  based on the final design which can be resumed by these 3 key words: feasible, teachable and repeatable.

Pink part will be driven by the ideal white part guided by the esthetic project (placement of the implant, connected soft tissue graft, customized temporaries and final restoration ) New type of implant will be presented as a versatile tool .

Both of these topics use the same philosophy (minimal invasive approaches, ), same bonded materials (CAD CAM material, press material ), same concept (visualization, validation, navigation through the mock up and guided surgery) and same clinical procedure (prep design, temporization, cementation).

Latest material development and their selection according to esthetic , functional and financial requirement, will be explained.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

People will learn during this lecture :

- recipes for designing a smile
- recipes for specific clinical issues: dyschromia, disposition, single unit, worn dentition
- a precise and repeatable method for managing simple and complex case as well following a guided protocol
- recipes for cementation laminate veneer, table top, crown
- use of e.max material (lithium disilicate)  / zircon Prime for each clinical indication (choice of ingot, thickness required..)
- latest e.max improvement with lab pictures
- how to jump into digital dentistry from cosmetic to functional rehabilitation

Abstract

Placing an immediate implant is far more than inserting a screw into an empty socket. Over the past years lots of
do´s and dont´s have been identified which decide over success or failure. This presentation will enhance the spectrum and number of cases treated by any practice focusing on pushing the limits with top high-end implants - then BLT & brand new BLX -which offer the most advanced technology to achieve superior primary stability and outstanding bone management.

The integration of new indications supported by evidence - based-literature sets the new standard of care with special emphasis on clinical details contributing to the successful integration of immediate implantology - which is nowadays critical for full patient satisfaction and economic success.

One of the major challenges in immediate implantology and immediate loading is to achieve sufficient initial primary stability. In this regard implant geometry and mechanical properties of the implant interacting with the alveolus are a key factor deciding over the feasibility of the whole concept. Once established immediate implantology will shorten the treatment and chairside times, save alveolar bone, spare the patient many augmentations, reduce the costs and give the specialist a market advantage against his competitors. The introduction of todays modern generation of implants to the market is a major game changer - which has widened the possibilities and opens new ways of thinking to push the limits even further.

Take-home-concepts  ready to apply lead through this presentation based on over 20 years of experience and more than 45k implants placed.

The goal of this presentation is to provide clear - ready to apply - take home messages which will widen the number of cases treated & of implants placed by every clinician ready to become an „immediate implantologist“
