Ivoclar's simplified filling therapy: some things have to be simple.

Schaan, Liechtenstein – 22 September 2026

Direct restorations are among the most common procedures in everyday practice. They often involve a series of individual steps switching between different materials and choosing between various products. That is exactly why every step you can save pays off. As part of its current "Simplify Your Filling Therapy" campaign, Ivoclar combines six products across four treatment steps into one seamless workflow. From relative isolation and bonding to restoration placement and high-gloss polishing, a coordinated product range significantly simplifies direct filling treatment without compromising on esthetics or quality.

Less complexity at every treatment step

Every step made simpler, from isolation and filling right through to polishing. It is not just the individual product that matters, but how the products work together: all components are designed to interact seamlessly throughout the entire workflow. The products can be integrated seamlessly into existing treatment workflows, without the need to change them. For the practice team, this means fewer decisions to make whilst maintaining the same level of control over the outcome.

The workflow at a glance

The workflow for direct filling procedures is designed to minimize complexity at every stage.

Step 1 Isolate – OptraGate® 2 and OptraGate® Dry Control
The latex-free OptraGate 2 lip and cheek retractor provides generous access to the treatment area. It is complemented by OptraGate Dry Control, a saliva and fluid extractor with an integrated tongue retractor: The 270°-degree suction coverage ensures a reliably dry treatment area; the self-retaining design allows for treatments without chairside assistance.

Step 2 Bond – Adhese® 2
Adhese 2 is a universal adhesive with both light- and dual-cure properties, suitable for both direct and indirect restorations and all etching techniques. The VivaPen® click mechanism enables precise and economical dispensing as well as quick, controlled intraoral application.

Step 3 Restore – Tetric® plus Fill and Tetric® plus Flow
The new simplified universal composite Tetric plus cuts shade selection down to four shades. The material can be applied in layer thicknesses of up to 4 mm and covers all cavity classes, including those in the anterior region. Tetric plus is available in two viscosities: sculptable (Tetric plus Fill) and flowable (Tetric plus Flow).[1]

Step 4 Cure – Bluephase® PowerCure

The high-performance Bluephase PowerCure curing light combines short curing times with intelligent assistance: The integrated curing assistant supports reliable curing. Adhese 2 and Tetric plus can be cured in short exposure times of 3 seconds and more.[2]

Step 5 Polish – OptraGloss®
The OptraGloss universal polisher, suitable for both intra- and extra-oral use, delivers a high-gloss finish to composite restorations in just one step – taking around 10 seconds for Tetric plus and requiring no additional polishing paste.[3]

Figure 2: From relative isolation and bonding to restoration placement and polishing: The coordinated workflow reduces the number of products and the range of materials required, thereby simplifying direct filling procedures.

"Direct restorative treatment can be challenging – which is why a workflow I can rely on is all the more important to me. For me, that means being able to follow clear procedures and use products such as Adhese 2 and Tetric plus that simply work well together."

Six products, four steps, one workflow

The kit contains all the products – with the exception of the Bluephase PowerCure – required to test the workflow. It is handed over by one of our field representatives, who will demonstrate and explain the process on site at the practice. Quick-start videos and concise product information can be accessed via QR codes on the test packs and in the accompanying information leaflet. This means that the entire workflow can be tested directly in day-to-day clinical practice without the need for extensive training.

Some things are best kept simple. Your filling therapy is no exception. The campaign video picks up on this central concept and gets to the heart of "Simplify Your Filling Therapy".
