We will guide you through all the clinical steps from the medical history, treatment planning and patient communication to the actual treatment. You will have the opportunity to improve your skills at our hands-on workshops. We will cover industry-leading topics that are not a part of your university curriculum, and we will also explore areas of interest not necessarily tied to dentistry.

How do I get there?

You can reach the training facility in Istanbul conveniently by public transport or by taxi. We are located within a 10-minute walk from the subway stop Osmanbey. Alternatively, you can catch one of the many buses to reach your destination.

Are there any travel restrictions?

All participants must organize their own trip. We cannot give any information on current travel restrictions or visa regulations.

What about accommodation?

We do not provide any accommodation. However, if you sign up for the Summer School, you will have the option of staying at one of our partner hotels at a discounted rate. Alternatively, there are plenty of affordable accommodation possibilities available in the city centre.

Reaching the training facility in Alcobendas only takes 11 minutes by taxi from the airport. The trip to and from the city centre can be managed by public transport (subway and bus), but takes about 1.5 hours. If you choose to arrive by car, you can use the parking lot in the same building.

Notre programme Summer School est conçu pour vous préparer à vos premiers patients. Nous vous guiderons à travers toutes les étapes cliniques, depuis l'anamnèse, la planification du traitement et la communication avec le patient jusqu'au traitement proprement dit. How do I get there?

You can easily reach the training facility in Schaan by public transport: A bus stop is located right next to the Academy. If you choose to arrive by car, you can use the parking lot in front of the training centre.

Are there any travel restrictions?

All participants must organize their own trip. We cannot give any information on current travel restrictions or visa regulations.

What about accommodation?

We do not provide any accommodation. However, if you sign up for the Summer School, you will have the option of staying at one of our partner hotels at a discounted rate.

On a warm summer day, go for a swim at Gampriner Seele, the only lake in Liechtenstein.

Walk up to Vaduz Castle, the official residence of the Prince of Liechtenstein.

Take in the breathtaking views from the Sareis mountain restaurant in Triesenberg at an altitude of 2,000 m. A great starting point for a day hike!

Mainz am Ufer des Rheins hat mit ihrer mittelalterlichen Altstadt und einem Umland voller Weinberge viel zu bieten. Das Trainingszentrum befindet sich im Areal der Universitätsmedizin an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz und ist der perfekte Ausgangsort für kleine Erkundungstouren. Zum Beispiel zum Gelände der Zitadelle, das über 450 Tier- und Pflanzenarten beherbergt. Von dort kann man auch einen wunderschönen Blick auf die Stadt geniessen.

Wie erreiche ich das Trainingszentrum?

Das Trainingszentrum befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft zum Universitätsklinikum Mainz und ist mit Bus und Straßenbahn sehr gut an das öffentliche Verkehrsnetz angebunden. Wer lieber mit dem Auto anreist, kann in der nahegelegenen Tiefgarage (kostenpflichtig) am Augustusplatz parken.

Gibt es Reisebeschränkungen?

Die Reise muss von den Teilnehmern selbst organisiert werden. Leider können wir keine Auskunft über aktuelle Reisebeschränkungen oder Visabestimmungen geben.

Und wie sieht es mit der Unterkunft aus?

Wir bieten keine Unterkunft an. Mainz bietet eine Vielzahl an Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten im Stadtzentrum.

Why Summer School?

Do you want to feel better prepared and more confident when you start treating your first patients in the clinical semester? If so, our Summer School program is just what you have been looking for. We offer you the opportunity to deepen the knowledge and skills that you gained in your undergraduate training, whilst learning how to work with the Ivoclar product workflows.

Our Summer School program for 2022 is offered at 7 locations across Europe. Meet fellow students, enjoy the benefits of travel and education, and become a part of an international community.

How will you benefit

The Summer School program will empower you on your journey to becoming an expert in your field. Your university has provided the best foundation; we offer an opportunity to practice and advance your skills. Our program is designed to cover a wide range of topics beyond what you have already learned at university. We invite you to get to know all the different aspects of dentistry – from a clinical as well as an interpersonal and business-minded perspective. We will ensure that you start your clinical semester well prepared.

Program focus

At the Summer School we focus on getting you ready for your first patient encounters. We will guide you through the whole clinical process, let you practice on the phantom head in our dedicated lab and give you the opportunity to advance your skills at our hands-on training courses. We will cover the following topics:

Your first patient
Learn about the entire clinical process, from the patient history to the patient consultation and the treatment of patients with special needs.

Tooth preparation techniques
Practice your preparation skills during one full day, working with crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays.

Dentist inspired Ivoclar workflows and solutions
Familiarize yourself with our proven solutions for direct restorations, including adhesion, all-ceramics and cementation. Gain valuable insight into digital dentistry and oral health management workflows.

Your career opportunities as a dentist
Learn how to be successful in your own practice. Hear from different speakers about their career path choices in a dental service organization (DSO) or as a manufacturer.

Brainsnacks – Healthy bites for your mind
Get inspired by keynote speeches on subjects beyond dentistry. The topics range from the customer journey and patient touchpoints, to artificial intelligence in dentistry and the right ergonomics to stay fit and healthy throughout your career.



Participation requirements

To benefit from the program and guarantee a rewarding experience for the entire group, all the participants must have a similar skills level. If you can answer all of the following questions with “yes”, then you meet the necessary participation criteria.

– Are you an undergraduate dental student?
– Is your university located in the EMEA region?
– Did you complete the hands-on phantom head courses at your university?
– Do you know how to operate handpieces (hold the handpiece, exchange burs, recognize the different shapes)?

Undergraduate students without practical experience and students who have already treated patients will not benefit from the program and are therefore not qualified.

Fees

The course fee for 2022 is €250* and includes five days** of training. Included are all the materials and equipment needed for the workshops, hand-outs, lunch and coffee breaks and one social evening event. Please bring your own work clothes.

About our summer school

The Summer School program is a part of the Ivoclar Academy, our educational resource centre that offers opportunities to learn and grow online or at one of our 71 Ivoclar Academy training centers across the globe. We focus on providing comprehensive, practice-oriented further education programs in a personalized environment

The Summer School program is offered exclusively for undergraduate dental students in Europe, and it kicks off in the summer of 2022.
