OptraGate® Dry Control:
Saliva and liquid ejector with integrated tongue retraction for clear access to the treatment area

Schaan, Liechtenstein – 3 March 2026

With OptraGate® Dry Control, Ivoclar introduces an innovative saliva and liquid ejector with an integrated tongue retractor, specifically designed to facilitate relative isolation and enable clear access to the treatment area, especially in combination with OptraGate® 2. Its well-thought-out design supports efficient workflows in dental treatments and dental hygiene procedures, even without chairside assistance. The integrated tongue retractor helps protect the patient’s tongue from accidental contact with rotating instruments.

For efficient workflows

Adequate moisture control and clear access to the treatment area are basic requirements for successful dental treatments. OptraGate Dry Control is designed to satisfy both requirements effectively and support clinical procedures efficiently. The 270-degree suction coverage with multiple suction openings ensures effective moisture control across a wide area, keeping the treatment area consistently dry. At the same time, the integrated tongue retractor keeps the tongue out of the way, reducing the risk of accidental contact with rotating instruments. This creates a safe treatment environment with optimized access to the treatment area, especially in the posterior region.

"OptraGate Dry Control protects the tongue and delivers reliable suction performance. Thanks to its self-retaining design, it stays firmly in place, letting me work more comfortably and stay focused without constant readjustments."

Dr Dan Lazăr, Romania

Designed to be self-retaining

With its ergonomic, self-retaining design, OptraGate Dry Control is easy to fit in the lower jaw and remains reliably in place without active holding or time-consuming readjustments needed. This supports an efficient treatment workflow, even in autonomous procedures, without chairside assistance. Its intuitive handling allows immediate use and seamless integration into existing clinical workflows. Customizable fitting options ensure a secure fit and comfortable wear – even during longer procedures.

A strong team for relative isolation: OptraGate Dry Control in combination with OptraGate 2

OptraGate 2 is a latex-free lip and cheek retractor that enables generous access to the treatment area. When appied in combination with OptraGate Dry Control, ideal conditions for effective relative isolation are created. The combination of wide 270-degree suction coverage, integrated tongue retractor and lip and cheek retraction ensure a clean, dry treatment area for optimal performance. Together, OptraGate Dry Control and OptraGate 2 offer decisive advantages, especially in adhesive dentistry. OptraGate Dry Control covers a wide range of clinical applications. It is suited for use in dental examinations, tooth preparations, direct restorative procedures and the placement of indirect restorations. OptraGate Dry Control enhances treatment efficiency and reinforces Ivoclar’s commitment to offering practice-oriented solutions for modern dentistry.
