“Thank you! It doesn’t hurt anymore. Now I can eat and smile again!” said nine-year-old Rheanne S. Saclet after her treatment with Ivoclar Joy. She had silently suffered from severe tooth pain for some time, and her parents were unable to afford professional dental care. She withdrew from others, eating became painful, and her academic performance began to decline dramatically.

Rheanne’s story is far from unique in the Philippines. According to the Department of Health, 87.4 % of the population suffer from tooth decay and/or its consequences. On the island of Palawan, dental care, especially for young people, is particularly poor: there are only three practicing dentists available for more than 200,000 pupils.

Ivoclar Joy brings help to a region where it is urgently needed. Moreover, Ivoclar has maintained a production site in the Philippines for over 30 years. This means that resources and an extensive local network are already in place, helping Ivoclar Joy to make an impact quickly. Together with schools, authorities, and dental professionals, we are building structures that enable lasting and positive change. We remain committed to our goal: less pain, more opportunities – for as many children and adolescents as possible.

Impressions of Philippines

We are committed to enabling children to live a life free of tooth decay, reducing the number of school dropouts caused by dental pain, to ultimately improve both educational opportunities and quality of life for children.
